Documents you need to rent a car in the UAE
Renting a car in the UAE is straightforward once you have the right documents ready. What you need depends on whether you are a resident or a visitor.
UAE residents- A valid UAE driving licence
- Your Emirates ID
- A payment card for the rental and refundable deposit
- Your passport and UAE entry visa (or stamp)
- A valid driving licence from your home country, plus an International Driving Permit if your licence is not in English or Arabic
- A credit card in the driver’s name for the deposit
The minimum age is typically 21–25 depending on the vehicle class. A refundable security deposit is held during the rental and returned after the car is checked back in. Ask us about delivery — we bring the car to you across the UAE.
